The Rev. Scott Slater walked almost 500 miles across Spain in 2016 on one of the oldest Christian pilgrimage routes in the world. He will describe the route, its history, a typical day in the life of a pilgrim, and highlight some of his spiritual experiences. Scott is an Episcopal priest and serves as chief operating officer of the Diocese of Maryland. He and his wife’s family have been coming to Chebeague for 28 years. One of his primary spiritual practices is walking, which includes having walked across Maryland in 2012, walking the Camino in 2016 and leading monthly prayer walks in Baltimore City to places where people have died from gun violence.
