Axiom's president Mark Ouelette and their Chief Technical Engineer toured Chebeague, last Friday.
Ron McKinnon, Bev Johnson and Chip Emery drove them around the island and talked about the various technologies available for improved internet.
Bev's historical knowledge of different areas and different speeds was critical.
As you are aware, the speeds differ widely and that is due to the use of copper wire.
A case in point was when we visited the Chebeague Island Boat Yard. They were experiencing difficulties. Although the Ookla test seemed OK, the problem persisted.
Bev reported yesterday that the problem was solved when corrosion on the copper wire feed was corrected.
The CIBY was back in business.
